About Top 50 Kitchen

Top 50 Kitchen is a weekly list of the 50 kitchen tools people are buying most right now: cookware, knives, small appliances, bakeware, gadgets, storage and coffee gear.

Each category also gets its own weekly Top 10, like the Top 10 Knives.

How we pick

Every week we look at Amazon's public best-seller lists for each kitchen category and how many reviews each product has. Then a person cuts it down and puts it in order, based on what's selling, what lasts, and what we'd tell a friend to buy. We skip no-name products we can't vouch for.

The badges show how each item moved since last week: ▲ went up, ▼ went down, NEW is new on the list.

What we don't do

• No one pays us to be on the list.
• We don't make up prices. Prices change all the time, so we send you to the store to see today's price.
• We haven't tested every product ourselves. Each description says what the item is and why it's on the list.
• We only link to big retailers (Amazon, Target, Walmart), never to brand websites.
